Hello, I’m Karla. I’m from Michoacán in Mexico.
I have been an English teacher for 25 years. In my teaching journey, I’ve taught children, junior-high and high school students, university students and professionals.
I’ve worked for some Language Institutes such as Harmon Hall and Practical English and some universities. I’ve also had the opportunity to work for Las Ventanas al Paraíso a Rosewood Resort in San José del Cabo, México teaching English to their staff or helping them to improve their skills in English, so that they could provide outstanding service to their very special customers.
Then in 2014 I opened my own School ––EnglishBright–– where I’ve been teaching not only online lessons but also in-person lessons.
I have also coached many professionals and university students who need to take some Cambridge Certifications (KEY, PET, FCE, CAE) or University Institutional English exams as well as the TOEFL, all of which are necessary for them, sometimes to graduate or simply to have better work and study opportunities.
The main goal I have when teaching English is to help my students reach their own goals, whether they be speaking the language, getting a certification, understanding songs, series and movies on video streaming platforms or video games, or only passing a school exam, and for some, they want to learn English t just for fun or because they love the language, which is my case.
For me it is essential to give uplifting feedback to my students and encourage them to focus on their progress. By doing so, they become more confident and happier.
In each lesson, I create a supportive atmosphere where students can feel comfortable enough to speak as much as possible keeping in mind that making a mistake is also a natural part of their learning process. The activities in class and homework are based on each student’s specific needs.
My slogan is: ‘Today is a good day to learn English’ Learning English can be fun and enjoyable.
